Same old me again today.

No matter what, Faberry lives on in us. In the shippers who write their story and the graphic makers who illustrate it. In the fans who believe in them and everything they could be. In the kids who are inspired by this thing we’ve created from glimpses Glee has given us.

The Faberry fandom is something bigger than the show because we’ve never really needed it the way other fandoms do. We’re creators and story tellers and believers.

I’m so grateful I’m a part of it.

First Listen Friday: Prom-asaurus Songs Review

Well this is something I’ve never done before, but on every First Listen Friday I will listen to the songs featured in the upcoming episode and write what I think of them. Please do not get upset if you see something I’ve written that upsets/offends you. These are purely my opinions.

So in order from best to worst…

#1 Take My Breath Away
I had longed for Glee to do this song for a loooong time, and when I heard it today, I’m glad to say it didn’t disappoint me at all. Plus Quinn and Santana’s voices blend well, although I reckon Quinn could have done the song justice on her own. Now I know what Quintana sounds like, and it’s something fresh from all the recent Pezberry duets we’ve had. Now where’s that Unholy Trinity trio song I’ve been longing for all this time?!

#2 What Makes You Beautiful
I’m not a One Direction fan, but this is definitely one of those songs where Glee does it better than the original. I’m also very pleased with the choice of singers: Sam, Rory, Artie, Mike and Joe. Perfect choice, and I’m glad that Blaine isn’t involved in it. The only thing I have against it is that Mike’s part isn’t in the episode. 

#3 Dinosaur
I’m not really a fan of Ke$ha either, but after Tik Tok last year I knew Brittany could do her justice and would have loved to have seen more, and it looks like I got my wish! I never really understood the song, although you have to admit it is rather catchy. 

#4 Love You Like A Love Song
I’d never even heard this song before, and to be honest I wasn’t that keen on it. On the plus side Naya sings better than Selena, but haven’t we had one Santana solo too many this season? I have nothing against her voice, I just feel like it’s being overused. 

#5 Big Girls Don’t Cry
This should have been a Rachel solo. What’s the deal with bringing in Kurt and Blaine, especially due to the fact that it’s meant to be sung by a GIRL, about growing up and becoming a woman. It makes no sense.

I’m really looking forward to the episode, especially as last year’s prom episode was brilliant (who can forget the classic Faberry scene in the bathroom?). I just hope it’s not one of those episodes that sounds/looks good at first, but doesn’t turn out as well as you hoped. Fingers crossed!
